MIAMI, FLORIDA -- Spirit airline charges if you don't have boarding pass printed out in advance. However their check in time is limited to 24 hrs in advance. This means when you are returning to home and you don't have access to printer because you are still on the road, you will have to pay for boarding pass. In Europe, Ryan air has same policy but they let you check in 15 days advance so you can print out all boarding passes need for your trip before leaving home. Spirit airline should do the same otherwise I can only think their policy is to rip off customers as much as they can.

If this is really their policy - it bites. Unless they let you hand carry your printer when you board, and I don't think they do.

Maybe they will let you subcontract the print out your passes kiosk at their counters?

How wired do they think their customer are?

I flew Delta, United and Jet Blue in the past year and all three let me check in on my iPhone and download an electronic boarding pass to my iPhone. All I had to do was have the bar codes read at the gates. If this isn't an option on Spirit, i would recommend a different airline in the future.

This is very helpful if true. I'm going on an act of faith and voting it helpful.
