Better NOT get MAACO, worst experience ever

Bumper paint job - Complaint

PICKERING/AJAX/TORONTO, FLORIDA -- I took my brand new Mustang to Maaco to get the bumper painted after my wife accidentally hit a pillar while parking in an underground lot (lol). It was the worst experience ever, when I went to pick up my vehicle the paint job was textured and rough the Maaco guy called it "orange peel" and that it was common, however on my brand new Mustang it looked pretty disgusting. I insisted that he redo the job, they did, but when I got it back they returned my vehicle wet, saying that they had to spray it down because it got shop dust on it. When I washed my car when I got home they had gotten overspray all over it (paint spray). They told me to bring it back so that they could buff it off, I opted to do it myself, it took me numerous tries to get the spray off my vehicle.

Personally, I wouldn't take any car I cared about to Maaco. When I was a kid, they advertised painting a whole car for like $79. Their reputation has not improved AFAIK.

If it is a newer car, I would find a reputable shop and pay for good work. You get what you pay for in this realm, as often is the case.
