Frontier - Poor Repair Service

SALEM, WEST VIRGINIA -- Poor repair service- no customer service rep has knowledge of problems or do they care- I am sure if they don't get paid then maybe the service will be better- reported this problem will be 1 week as of 12/27/12- just received an automated call pushing repair back into the 1st. Week of January. They say it is due to the phone lines that have not been maintained by Verizon- did they not know this before- slow service- every time it rains our phone does not work- just fix the problem already- quit patching and repair- we pay our bill- you should provide the service- pathetic company- should be fined by the state for piss poor service-

It sounds like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. My land line service is in the hard place - with Verizon. You are dealing with Frontier, which probably bought your local line from VZ or AT&T. Sounds like at some point, it switches over to VZ.

The problem we have is that we have the technology that made AT&T the successful behemoth it became. Perfected to a "tee" over many decades, it is now outmoded. There isn't much incentive for the big guys (T and VZ) to maintain their land lines well, and they don't. Typical service calls take at least a week. Cables that carry lines that develop hum or static when wet they don't want to replace because of the cost. They keep swapping pairs, hoping they never will have to replace that cable.

Good luck. Land lines still are the best, in my opinion, but it is like pulling teeth to make the phone company keep them working.
