American Express - Amex Customer Service Is at an All Time Low---

American Express does not care about customer service ...when you call them, you get someone from India that asks you for your social security number not your card number...and if you won't give out the social security number they will not deal with you. They are extremely RUDE and will not let you speak to any English speaking person or supervisor....poor business in my estimation---cancelled my card and will NEVER look back.

what is the issue you are trying to resolve?

the few times i have called about my amex cards, i reach someone in the us-of-a.

It sounds like there was a special issue with your account, if they asked for your SSN. I've never had a CC company ask for anything except my card #. Was there a security issue?

Are you sure that the number you dialed was truly for Amex? Like the number on your printed statement or the back of the card?

Other posters have made me realize that perhaps you responded to a phishing e-mail. Those people might want your SSN. They don't care about the card number; they've got enough with your name, e-mail, and SSN to steal an identity.
