Dish Network - Have Others Had a Problem With a Faulty Dish Hopper Blowing Out Their TV?
Dish Hopper blew out Panasonic TC-P50G15 plasma TV
2386 SOUTH DAIRY ASHFORD ROAD, TEXAS -- During Dish installation a faulty Dish Hopper was connected and when connected, it blew out a Dish cable switch. The tech replaced the Hopper and the switch and reconnected to my 50" Panasonic TV. Initially everything worked but after 5 minutes I heard a loud pop come from my TV and the screen went black. Powered down and up and then 2 blinks from the led on my TV indicates the 15 VDC power board in my TV has a problem. Changed out the TV with another smaller one and it works. I told the install tech he blew my TV and he files a claim for me. After 2 months of delays they just came back and said they found nothing wrong in their faulty Hopper and refuses to accept responsibility for repairing my 50" Panasonic. BTW the install technician said the voltage on the switch and HDMI connection between my TV, the Hopper and the switch that blew are all 15VDC powered. Need to know what government agencies I can file a complaint with. I Hope I can help prevent others from having an expensive TV blown by the Dish Hopper satellite receivers. Dish initially assigned a claims Manager but he never answered his phone and never had any information until 2 months after the installation. Now I have a defective TV that will cost $400 to %500 to repair and I am locked into a contract with a company whose product I have no confidence in. The Dish Claims Mgr is named Bill his contact number is[snip].
