Avoid Bill Me Later
OMAHA, NEBRASKA -- Last week, 12-26-12, I discovered 2 fraudulent charges had been made to my Paypal account. I reported the charges within3 hours of them being posted. Paypal told me my password had been compromised. (No one in the house knows the Paypal user name or password. The password was a 13 character password with capital letters and numbers.) The larger of the 2 charges was posted to my Bill Me Later account. Paypal opened a fraud investigation. On 12-27-12 I called back and was routed to Bill Me Later. I went through the entire story again. They said it was best to close the account. Paypal completed their investigation and credited the unauthorized charges back to my account.
I called Bill Me Later today to get a new account opened. I was informed they could not open a new account because of the fraudulent charges although they acknowledged the charge was credited back to the account. I asked why was I being penalized for a fraudulent charge. They kept repeating they could not open a new account for me because of the fraud. I did not get an answer as to why I, the victim, was being punished for a fraudulent charge and I am the one being punished. All in all Bill Me Later needs to be avoided.
