Rick Hendrick Dodge in Chaleston ,SC Complaint - No Service After The Sell!

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I bought a $40,000 Ram 2500 L/B Quad Cab Black Diesel Truck from Rick Hendrick Dodge in Charleston about 6 months ago and they have tried to fix the paint three times and the only thing they want to do is buff the paint. They insist that it would be a bad decision to paint it. I found out on 1/21/06 while possibly trying to just get rid of the truck that the new truck that I bought had been painted on the whole left side of the bed. I took it to Carmax to get a Quote and was told this by them. They do not return phone calls when they say they will the General Manager will not respond to voicemails or faxes. Every time they brought the truck to me it has been dirtier than when they picked it up, and they have yet to call me after they have done whatever they said they were going to do, even though it still looked like crap. They DO NOT CARE! WHY ARE THEY 5 STAR AND WHO RATES THEM?

What exactly is wrong with the paint? You never tell us.

Chrysler rates the dealers for 5 star based on Sales/service satifaction ratings and sales quotas being met. Ask to set an appointment with the Chrysler service rep. for your area to review your paint issues, they usually visit the dealers every 4-6 weeks. You may also check out your state lemon laws, you may have already qualified.

This dealer is horrible. I arranged to buy a use Audi from them and came from Atlanta to pick it up. They assured me the car was in almost perfect condition with absolutely no dents or scratches. I even asked the sales guy to check for dents and scratches when I spoke with him on the phone. He went to check the car and called me back after 30 minutes to assure there were no dents or scratches. Since I was flying in to pick up the car I asked them to make sure it was detailed and ready for me to pick up as I had a 6 hour drive home.
When I got there I immediately saw a 6-8 in scratch on the side of the car and then had to wait 4 hours before the car was ready for me to drive home. During this 4 hour wait they sat me in a cubicle and offered me 1 drink and nothing to eat. They 'buffed' the scratch out, which looked ok at the time, but after 2 weeks I could see a large grey-ish patch on the side of the black car. It looks horrible. Of course they didn't even apologize and won't do anything about it. I complained to the BBF but they didn't help saying I didn't provide them with any evidence. Which is odd since they never asked me for any. As usual the consumer losses out and the dealer is OK.

I bought 2 of my vehicles from this dealership, one new and one used and take all 3 of my vehicles to them for service for the last 13 years and I have always recieved great service! They are friendly, helpfull, and they have earned my trust over the years.
