BELLVUE, ILLINOIS -- It has come to our attention that police officers were eating at Denny's when the management asked the police officer to leave the restaurant. Many association Fireman police officers
Have been notified of this act.

what were the circumstances for them being asked to leave?

The actual story is that a customer complained about five people (who turned out to be detectives) sitting at a table, with guns showing. An assistant manager asked them to put their guns in their car, and they opted to leave instead. While they were leaving, a GM intervened and told them that no, they did not have to remove their guns, and to please stay. They chose to leave anyway.

This is a big deal about nothing, and to present the story in the way the OP did, is just irresponsible and bordering on ficticious.
