CARTERSVILLE, GEORGIA -- I bought tires from Walmart in Cartersville, Ga. They are not that old, but the tread is coming loose on the side. I went back to Walmart, but they said without a receipt I would have to contact Uniroyal and I am an unhappy customer knowing how Walmart has always made good on their products. Is there anything you can do to resolve this problem? I would be very grateful since I don't have money for another tire now. Thank You. Timothy Wyatt

To make a tire claim, the store or manufacturer will always require a receipt showing the mileage when the tire was installed. Good luck - I'm not sure you will succeed in obtaining satisfaction.

Regardless, I'm fairly certain you will need to contact Uniroyal directly.

First of all, WalMart should be able to access your vehicle history, including the tire purchase. Second, people don't understand that Walmart has tire producers manufacture products that aren't up to normal "specs". I had Walmart put a set of Goodyear tires on a car of mine a few years ago, and when I had a problem, the local Goodyear dealer wouldn't warranty the tires, saying they didn't warranty tires sold at Walmart due to their "quality" standards. You can try contacting Uniroyal, but I would pressure Walmart to produce a vehicle history, and don't buy tires from them in the future.

Do what Walmart suggested and contact Uniroyal.

You might try contacting Michelin North America at 866-866-6605 since the Michelin Group owns Uniroyal. They may be able to assit you.

how many miles were put on the tyres? were they 're-treads'?
