ROSEVILLE, CALIFORNIA -- Went to their store with model, serial numbers, copies, photos to buy a memory upgrade. Picked out one item and asked the sales person if it was the right one. He said he did not know! That I should wait in a long line at customer service to ask them. I went to the cashier asking if the item was returnable. She replied yes, bring the receipt within 30 days. Turned out it was the wrong part so I went to return it the following day. Had to wait in a long line at customer service and had a big argument because I did not have a drivers license with me.

I had the receipt showing I paid cash and a Best Buy Rewards card I have had for more than 5 years. After a big hassel I got my $42.99 refunded in cash. I seem to have bad experience every time I attempt to buy from them. This is the last time, they will never see a dime of my money again, never.

With respect to ok4now, I prefer local much more than mail order.

I can sure appreciate the frustration. And, although I can understand their apprehension to refunding in cash without any ID, there's a lot to be said for common sense.
