Dish Network - Complaint About Terrible Customer Service

ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- After over 2 years of being a customer of Dish Network, their DVR system started to fail. Programs were deleted and shows were not recorded. After complaining to DISH, the sent a new unit, this unit started turning itself off after 5 hours of use, we called customer service and they would not help us. Then to top things, some shows were deleted and again we called Dish. They had nothing better to say that it was our fault. I requested the possibility of having a hard drive to one of their other units so we can have a back up for their unreliable DVR, to which they responded that they did not do this. I inmediaytely proceeded to cancel their service and switchwd to Comcast. So far we are very happy and paying about the same. Beware that our charge went uup to $120 per month, which was over $40 from our original charge. But really the problem is that Dish is frankly terrible and their image quality is not good, plus service will go out every time it rained.

I am sorry to see that we have lost you as a customer. We hope to one day again have the pleasure of doing business with you. If you had the same issues with the replacement receiver, we would normally want to send out a tech for you; especially if you were losing signal in the rain often. It sounds like your dish needed to be realinged and there could have been an issue that caused your DVR to fail. I called Dish Network today because my monthly payment was late and I had sent it in last week and wanted to let them know it was sent in, well somthing has been messing up for a couple of years ad it would come up on our screen our card was invalid for our box...sometimes it would stay like that for hours so wile I was talking t a lady she wanted to go thru some things on our account and I told her about the smart card thing going on at the time I was speaking wit her..Well w live on the Ohio and West Virginia state line and we got our local news out of Huntington and Charleston West Virginia and the lady did something and took our local news stations off and I told her and she said she couldn't fix it so she was goingto switch me over to another tech who coul proably help me..Well he wa in Oakahoma and teid to tell me I had ben getting my local news stations out of Columbus Ohio since 2005...Not true...I tried to tell him was proably getting my Huntington Charleston stations since 2005 and he said that couldn't be because my local station was Columbus Ohio since I lived on the Ohio side of th border which Columbus doesn't even give OUR local news and weather so we argued about it for awhile and he won..I have to get worthless news and weather for my area from Columbus...When oter people all around me get thers from Huntington or Parkersburg W.Va. which bothof tose would benefit us but we ca't have it..This is a bunch of bull...I am one very unhappy Dish Customer and I would never have them agan...
