LAWRENCEVILLE, NEW JERSEY -- Purchased New York strip w/ Rock Lobster Tail. Tail appeared somewhat discolored in one area. Tasted from other side--fishy unpleasant taste. Told manager, wanted replacement. No suitable replacement available...what??? Had 3 tiny bites, determined to be bad. Later experienced stomach pain and diarrhea....food poisoning.

I last ate at Red Lobster in around 1990. I've never been back, and I have no interest in doing so.

I've since spoken to a kitchen worker who told me some of the raw fish coming off the truck didn't look fit to cook.

I rarely get sea food when I go to RL. I mainly go there for the Cajun chicken pasta and those cheddar bay biscuits.

I don't trust eating sea food there

did you seek medical attention for the food borne illness? this should be reported to the local health department in case other's have suffered the same issues.

Whether you are at home or at a restaurant never eat anything that does not look right smell right or taste right. If it should end up in your mouth before you realize there is a problem, spit it out and wash your mouth out with water. I can't believe how many people say "It looked or smelled funny and I could barely eat it"

Having recently dined at RL this does not surprise me. They have raised the prices and lowered the portions to maximize profit. They can only do this if they buy cheap seafood. You don't know what you're eating or where it came from.

A few things to consider. Never ever buy or consume any fish product from China. They have been sited numerous times for filthy unsanitary conditions. To pass inspection they have been know to pump antibiotics into their product.

Be skeptical of "farm raised" fish. Some purveyors trying to increase profit put a large quantity of fish in a very small tank or netting. They are now swimming in and eating each others excrement. This is totally unhealthy for human consumption and could give you food poisoning.

The safest fish product to eat is wild caught from certified clean mercury free waters. As an example Whole Foods sells this product but it's pricey. Now I ask you, what do you think you're eating at RL? It's no wonder that that lobster tail made you sick.
