Ashley Furniture - Won't Stand Behind Anything They Sell
Stearns and Foster - Complaint

MIDDLETOWN,NY -- I asked for the best and hardest mattress they sold. i got a Stearns and Foster made by Sealy. After about 3 or 4 weeks the firmness was gone and started sinking into the bed. I went back to Ashley and they sent me to Sealy. Sealy says they will only warranty if 1.5 inches deformed. That takes years.
I went back to Ashley and they said it was up to Sealy. They won't stand behind anything they sell. 2000 down the drain,,DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ASHLY FURNITURE. THEY SUCK....CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE.

I've never been a big fan of Ashley, but can understand their position.
Some retailers offer what is commonly referred to as a comfort guarantee. That is, if you get a new mattress, sleep on it for a period of time to allow your body to conform and protect the mattress with a mattress guard, they will do a one time exchange. It doesn't sound as if Ashley ever offered this with the purchase.
Without such, you are left with the manufacturer's warranty, which does require a mattress to give or 'sink' enough for replacement. An inch or inch and half is not that uncommon. If it isn't sinking any further than that, then frankly it's not sinking a great deal.
I wouldn't blame you for wanting a mattress you're comfortable with. A good night's sleep is extremely important. If the mattress is still clean, you may offer it for sale at a reasonably good price and, even though it may mean a slight loss for you, you'd still be able to invest into something that is more of your liking.
Let us know if you do replace it.
