YORK, PENNSYLVANIA -- I went onto Kmart.com and place a layaway. I made all the payments. Right after the final payment was made I got an email from Kmart.com saying that due to an error that my layaway was cancelled and told to call the 800# I call and after a whole bunch of bull was told they never had my items in stock. that this was a problem they were having with there online layaway program. So I ask about my money being refunded and was told 3 to 5 days well three weeks later and my money has not been returned. The 800# is full of poop and so are there customer service reps. What business does this to there customers take your money give you nothing and then act like they are doing you a favor by listening to your complaint. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT KMART OR SEARS EVER AGAIN. After all this they offered me a 10 dollar gift card but no we are sorry for the inconvenience no nothing Shop at Kmart.com at your own risk you could not pay me to shop there.

3 weeks is excessive - it should take 2 max.

If that phone line is full of poop I would avoid it at all costs.

We are dealing with the exact same situation. Layway was canceled on Jan. 10 2013. It is now Jan 26 and still no refund. It sounds like we are dealing with a layaway system that is managed overseas and can not be effected by Kmart stateside. Ridiculous!

I also am having the same experience as you, I made an online Nov 24, made all my layaway payments on time, made the final one first part of Jan, when I got a message stating there was an error, also got in my email a email stating that my order had been canceled due to the error, and this was after they took my final payment. I talked to a rep, she told me that she was going to submit a refund, that I would get my refund within 3 to 5 business days. I have called Kmart customer service several times as I never gotten gotten any refund. on Feb 5 I called them back again, asking to talk to a manager, as I was getting fed up with being told I would receive the refund within 3 to 5 business days, and that the online credit dept where they sent the refund back on your card, was back up with these same issues of other customers. Then I get a email yetserday stating that they did credit my account, so talked to the online soluation manager, explaining everything that was going on with trying to get a refund that was due to me, and never had gotten anything but run arounds. She told me to go to my bank and have them fax Kmart credit dept the information they had asked for. She helped me more that all those other reps. I went to the bank , my bank officer called Kmart customer service credit dept, they also told her that they credited the refund to my bank, she told them there was never had refund credited to my bank, so they told her to fax them my account atatements, she did, but she also told them that she couldnt see why they was asking for statements, when the bank officer was telling them that no refund was ever credited.
I cant understand why its taking over over 5 weeks to get a simple refund because they canceled my order cause of being out of stock on a couple of items I had ordered. I even emailed the shipping and stocking president and explained everything to him in an email only to get a reply to go to my kmart account and cancel the order, which the order was already canceled, as they had done them selves. Apparently he never even read the whole email as his answer wasnt even related to the complaint I wrote him about. Thats is poor customer service especially for the president of shipping and stocking!!

It sounds very fishy to me about the whole thing. I never experienced anything like this in my life with online ordering. But I will never order anything with them again. I can see now why they are closing some of there stores , with the business they are conducting, and giving their customers a run around. This is sure been one horrible and stressing online experinece, and wont be repeated again for me!!!
