Fox Rent A Car - Tampa - Renting Under 25 Years of Age

FLORIDA -- My son was moving down from MD and he encountered problems when attempting to rent a car. He is 23, and was told since he was under 25 he had to pay an additional deposit fee of $400 which we did see online. But, what he did not know was that if he used a CC it was going to be $300 + his car rental, that we were not prepared for. And to make things worse he would not be honored the same rate listed online. He would have to go online make reservations then get back in line provide the confirmation number to take advantage of the rate they advertised on their website.
Trying to reach them directly is impossible. You will only get their customer service number which does not have the means to contact them directly either. Their Corp office only has voicemail or options to connect you back to the customer service reps.
If you need a rental car company w/ good customer service experience and you are under 25 then don't waste your time. For a peace of mind and a rental place that actually provides rental cars should go elsewhere.

Most rental places that I know of either require an additional deposit for renters under 25 if they allow them at all. With regard to the Internet price differing from the counter price, that would have happened no matter how old he was.

CC is spot on. Most rental companies won't rent at all to under 25.
