FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA -- I flew from BWI to Ft. Lauderdale with my carry-on bag with no issues. I had measured it carefully to see it met the 50" specs when full. On the return flight, with the same items in my bag, as I approached to the gate to enter the plane, A WOMAN (HOPE) RIPPED THE BAG FROM MY HAND CLAIMING IT WAS OVERSIZED. I assured her it was not as I carefully measured it and it met the requirement of 50 inches.

She refused to let me transfer anything from my bag to my parters bag and refused me access to it. My heart medication was in the bag among many other vital items. I have never been treated so rudely or unprofessionally by anyone, anywhere!!! The customer service people I filed a complaint with completely dismissed me and supported the NAZI.

My traveling companion was an employee of DHS and had his credentials around his neck and she was just has nasty to him as she was to me!!! A word of caution if you are traveling Air Tran from Ft. Lauderdale, WATCH OUT FOR HOPE, THE BAGGAGE NAZI!!! You may be her next victim.

I am sorry this happened to you. I learned a long time ago to always carry my medication on my person. Never would I check it, being an airline or a train, etc.

OP wasn't planning to check the bag. He/she had measured it and was certain that it would fit.

That said, I'd carry meds in a jacket, purse, back pocket.
