Threatening Phone Calls From Carmax Salesman
Demanding More Money - Complaint
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA -- After being called to the Carmax dealership Boynton Beach Florida twice to pick up my vehicle, they were finally satisfied that I had provided all of the required documents and the $600 deposit. I signed a bunch of pages without paying attention, because I was excited about getting a car. I received a License Plate and Registration in my name, but I failed to notice that they gave me the general paperwork for the wrong vehicle, and I was not provided with a receipt for my deposit. However, Page 2 of the Finance Agreement, part of line 2 states that $600 deposit is required, and on line 6 it states that all above have been satisfied. And this document was signed by the Dealer's Rep or Financial Officer.
Having fulfilled all requirements on the Agreement, I was given the vehicle and I drove away.
A few days later I received an email stateing that they required some of the same paperwork I had already provided twice, and they needed proof of the deposit. Apparently someone had lost half of the file containing the paperwork and the deposit money.
Then the salesman called and demanded that I return and repay the $600 or he will come and take the vehicle from me.
I am now fearful for my safety and my vehicle, and I am seeking advice and legal recourse. Please advise me at your earliest convenience.
