Auto Insurance - Complaint

LIVERPOOL, NEW YORK -- I was adding a second car to my policy. I already have insuance on a car that is financed thru an auto dealer. The trade in vehicle that was listed on the auto dealer paperwork was altered and my insurance was cancelled because of it. The auto dealer and the agency are finger pointing each other. I had paperwork faxed to me from the dealer and the agency that clearly shows the document being altered by someone. I have filed a complaint with Consumer affairs as well as with the 24/7 State Farm line. Also in the process of filing with NYS Attorney Generals office.

There was absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE from the agency side. Just a continued my office would not do that. Well it's hard to believe that the auto dealer would alter the document since I have 2 cars financed with the dealer. Nobody will admit the error. So my quest continues until I get satisfaction.

From what you describe, it sounds like the insurance company did what I would expect it to do if it found an irregularity in paperwork. State Farm (and probably all insurance companies) are on the lookout for items that could result in losses due to all kinds of reasons.

I don't understand how you know this is SF's fault, and not the dealer's - you said these two are pointing fingers at each other.
