Amerigas - No Gas

Propane Delivery - Complaint

RAVENNA, OHIO -- It is Sunday at 7am. I have awakened to a cold house. The thermostat says 63 and it is dropping rapidly since the outside temperature is 16. I am hoping that the small portable electric heater compensates for the heat loss, but come on, one small heater to heat the whole house? I called Amerigas in Ravenna Ohio on January 23rd to request a delivery of propane and was told that it would be a week to ten days before they could come out. I figured they would have things taken care of for me quickly and fill my propane tank since they already had my money because I am a prepay customer.

It is February 3rd and since the house is so cold, obviously, there is no propane. I have tried to contact them but since it is the weekend, of course, they are closed. I left them a message detailing my situation and hope they will call me tomorrow which, by the way, is day twelve and obviously out of their commitment of 7-10 days. We will see how attentive they are to a customer totally without the ability to use the furnace in the house due to their total lack of proper scheduling. Hopefully, by the time you read this I won't be paying for a plumber to come out to replace pipes that burst because a propane company doesn't service their customers properly.

when i heated with propane, i would request a fill when my tank was at 30%. this would be plenty for two or so weeks.

By the numerous complaints about this unscrupulous company you should get rid of them and find a new provider.

Since you have run out completely they will probably make an addition charge for having your system analyzed for possible leakage.

They are one sorry outfit. Good luck.

If you are on "will call", you are supposed to call when your tank is 10-15% minimum, to avoid this exact risk. Is it possible your gauge is broken/inaccurate? 10 days is a long wait, but if you called one day and said your are at 5% they would make it a point to get to you.

What % was the tank when you called, and what is the reading now?
