It sounds from your complaint like you left an item in the shopping cart when you moved your bags to the car. Furthermore, I am guessing this is a relatively small package, which may help explain your oversight.

I don't see from your description what WallsMart did wrong. If you called and they said they found it and set it aside, and then said later they didn't have it, I would agree that is less than stellar customer service.

If I had a dollar for every time I'd purchased something and it didn't make it to my house (or even my car), I'd be a rich woman. Most memorable was the time I bought a box of diapers and put them (I swear it) in the underside of the cart. But somewhere between getting to the car, getting Baby Clutzy buckled in and then went to load my trunk (it was 2 above 0, so baby comes before booty), it had disappeared. I ran back inside hoping to find it, but they were nowhere to be found and the Walmart staff were less than eager to assist me. I ended up paying another $15 dollars for a new box of diapers. I like to think that someone was just so desperate for diapers for their little one that they felt they had no choice but to swipe mine.

Problem with walmart is the cashier does not put the bags into the cart for you after they are bagged. You are expected to put them in your cart. There are times that the cashier will start the customer behind you before you have a chance to get all your bags and then you a have no idea which are yours and which are the customer behind you. The cashier will also put large items such as diapers, toilet paper, paper towels on the floor next to them. You are expected to check out all the surroundings before leaving the area. That is another reason I won't shop walmart. At least at Target the cashier will put the bags in the cart for you or at least hand them to you.
