LANCASTER, SOUTH CAROLINA -- First of all I like Wal-Mart, enjoy shopping there. This is the issue that I have my son purchased a flat screen TV for me for my Birthday had the TV for ninety days the TV Blinked out continuously tried to take the TV back Customer Service gave me a print out to the name of the TV brand and who I need to contact.

THE TV WAS PURCHASE from Walmart I did not go to Sanyo or Emerson to get the TV it was was from Wal-Mart and I think they should be responsible. I do not want the money. I prefer the replacement of the TV since it was a gift from my son.

Walmart didn't make the tv, that's why they want you to speak to the company that made the tv. Walmart can't fix the issue with the tv

But Walmart did not make the TV; and if I'm not mistaken after about 14 days or so, they will not accept electronics for return. Your best bet is to go through the manufacturer and their warranty.

I do not see why WalMart should be responsible, if this is a warranty issue. It is indeed up to Sanyo or Emerson or whomever to make it right for you.

While 90 days is a short period of time in which to have a failure, this is beyond the period in which the retailer should take back a tv that has malfunctioned and give you a new one. I believe that is essentially what they told you.

There is something called a return policy. There is another thing called the manufacturer warranty. Walmart doesn't service product. You are responsible for obtaining mfr service under warranty after the return policy period. This is old news and not necessarily a bad thing. You or anyone else cannot create their own return and exchange policy. Most retailers operate the same way.

What is strange is TVs aren't even on the list of 15 day returns. Walmart -
The following electronics items must be returned within 15 days of receipt:

Computers
Computer hardware
Camcorders
Digital cameras
GPS units
Digital music players
Tablets
E-Readers
Portable video players
Computer software must be returned unopened.

The OP said they had the TV ninety days. Walmart says the return policy is 90 days for items not specifically listed with a shorter return period. I think the OP just missed the 90-day cutoff of the return policy. My own opinion is I would not have kept it 90 days (3 months) watching a TV that "Blinked out continuously".

We are not sure the OP had the tv for only 90 days. It was bought as a gift by her son. There could be a delay of days? between his purchasing it and giving it to her, when she then had it for 90 days. Could have been a 100 days or more after purchase.

maybe they were concerned that when they gave you your money back and took the tv to the back of the store and opened it, it would be nothing but a tv box with fire wood in it. lol kidding but that really did happen. Anderson, IN walmart.
