OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA -- Dish net work install dishes on the roof of my apartment with out my permission. The installer damaged the roof and caused it to leak. I contacted dish net work they said they were not responsible for damages. The tenant in the apartment was responsible for the damage. I think other wise.

They are refusing to remove the dishes and pay damages. I`m working with the Better Business Bureau to solve this matter. Hope I don't have to go to court to solve this matter.

There is no right for the tenents to have dishes anywhere on your property except in an area totally under their control (a patio, for example.)
You may remove the dishes, should you desire
Unfortunatly, the BBB is not much help: both DirecTv and Dish have F ratings.
I dont know how CA rental deposit laws work in cases like this, but it is hard to hold the tenets responsible for the actions of "experts" in the form of satellite installers.

In general, tenants are prohibited from installing or having installed dishes in areas that are not under their control as jonthethird indicated. The tenant contracted with the installer and allowed the installation without your approval and it would follow that the tenant becomes responsible.
