Travelocity - Not Guaranteed a Ticket Even if You Get Confirmation

This is absolutely ludicrous. They never confirmed my seats with the airline so they basically can't give me what they confirmed they gave me four days ago for a flight. To make matters worse, they won't even rebook it for the same price! Now the flight prices have skyrocketed and I'm responsible for paying the difference! What kind of service is this?
The customer service representative was completely useless and took like 10 minutes to even understand what was going on. In total for waiting time for him, waiting time with him, waiting time for the supervisor, I waited 45 minutes for nothing. Now, I have to re-book, eat the cost and the time.
I will never book through Travelocity again. I recommend you don't as well.

I guess I don't understand how this can happen. I like to book directly - I see the lure of Travelocity, Orbitz etc, but it isn't worth it to me to deal with headaches like this. Sorry this happened to you.

When one uses Travelocity, Expedia, or similar travel agents, you are their customer. The confirmation that you receive is confirming THAT THEY HAVE YOUR ORDER, it is not confirmation that the ticket has been bought from the airlines.
After you buy from Travelocity, then it has to buy the ticket from the airlines. This is what Travelocity apparently failed to do.
I use Travelocity and those sites to find the cheapest fares. Then I go DIRECTLY to the airlines, and look for that flight on the airline's website. Then I buy direct from them. That saves a lot of problems.
