OAKDALE, CALIFORNIA -- Back in 2007 while living with my brother and his wife they ask to use my credit card by Dish only to show deposit, after my sister in-law got the bill and paid it Dish was to remove my credit card. They took her money and billed my credit card for the same amount, now in 2013 they have sent the bill to collection saying I never paid it and owe them for that charge. The collection outfit Convergent out of Texas won't lisen when I try to tell them about it, I contacted BBB and filed with them. Dish Network is a bunch of thieves.

Up until a few years ago, satellite customers were given the option of either purchasing or leasing the receivers. In fact, at that time, receivers could be purchased at various retail outlets. However, this practice was stopped and now the only option is to lease the equipment. The monthly service charge you refer to not only provides for free replacement of the equipment, if necessary, but also includes free or reduced service calls. You can cancel this coverage, either via Dish online or calling their customer service.
