Ihop - Cold Instant Potatoes & Burned Chicken

POCATELLO, IDAHO -- Howdy
Nancy and I have been married over thirty years and eat out a lot. We occasionally remember the two worst restaurant meals ever . . . a Denny's Dinner Meal and a Ruby Tuesday meal where the steak was so bad we threw it away.
Well . . . as of Thursday Evening . . . yes, Valentines Day . . . we now, unfortunately, have a third worst meal ever to remember! Yuck!
Summary:
1- The chicken pieces were dark . . .dark brown crusty . . . near burned.
2- The instant potatoes had nothing on them.
3- The split bisquit was seared on one side . . . near burned . . . and dry. . . dry . . . dry!
4- My wife's talapia had an odd texture and very little sauce with it.
5- My wife's mashed potatoes were served actually cold . . . with nothing on them, of course.
Highlights:
1- The canned corn.
2- Getting out of there.
3- Stopping for a soda to get the bad taste out of my mouth!
I'm not a complainer and I will eat almost anything . . . but that meal was truly awful and brings a bad taste to my mouth thinking about it!

The last time I went to iHop I ordered grits. When our food came out I mentioned to the waitress that she forgot my grits. I watched her go back to the staging area where she proceed to empty the contents of an individual packet of instant grits into a bowl and then dispensed hot water on them. I thought you got to be freaking kidding me.. No self-respecting man, woman or child would ever in good conscience eat much less serve freaking instant grits. I knew right then iHop was not to be trusted and I have not been back since.

Instant potatoes in Idaho? That (along with everything else you mentioned) is just NOT right. Clutzy has a good suggestion. If you haven't told them yet, give them a call, Greg397, or go to their website and let them know this franchise location let you down. Instant grits sounds nasty, too, Churro.

Greg,you and Nancy deserve better. Telling management wont help. This is the norm for IHOP. As long as there are millions of sheep like Litteshort, they dont have to change.

Personally, I've given up on expecting a decent meal at any of the establishments that you mentioned. That doesn't mean that you should, but for me the probability of having a good meal at one of these places is under 50-70% depending on chain, which is far too low.
