Do not send them $37.50. This is a bad offer bordering on fraud. Toss it in the trash can.
Never ever pay an up front fee to get a credit card. NEVER ~~ EVER.

I agree with Churro, sounds like a ripoff. On a side note, when credit cards started the "Gold card, Platinum card etc." it might have meant something. Now it is a joke.

I can't believe people would even consider this. My Nigerian friend has a fortune but its all tied up in government red tape. If you lent me say $10k, I'll make sure you get a handsome return on your investment.

Despite its appearance (platinum, gold etc.) this card is NOT a visa, mastercard type of card. The card offered is a card that allows you purchases through their "exclusive catalog". The items in the catalogs for these offers are often of low quality, manufacturer closeouts etc. The company allows you to purchase the items by making a "down payment" (which is generally their cost of the merchandise) and then make recurring payments for the balance.
I would simply throw this offer in the garbage. These "catalog" company cards have been around for ages and are normally targeted at low income or high risk consumers.
