Fred Meyer Gift Card Ordered Online

IDAHO -- I ordered a $50.00 gift card for my sister in early December 2021 to be sent to her street address. I put her address on the website to send USPS. I received a confirmation in my email stating it was an ecard and I could spend it. I phoned and a representative stated he would cancel the $50.00 order so I reordered hitting the USPS option and placing her address in again. I was then charged $150.00. Eventually, after letters and phone calls, we were reimbursed for $50.00, though we are still being charged $100.00. Unfortunately, I now have a $100.00 charge and the card has not been sent to my sister, just two e-cards to my email. Both cards have now been canceled. And I will state again, I put in her street address as the website requested her street address.

One Fred Meyer/Kroger representative told me, well, an ecard is better. How insane! My sister does not have an email address. I put send USPS. And again, as I stated, I get an ecard in my email. I should have been charged $50.00 not $150.00 and it should have been sent to her street address. Now her Christmas gift card is very late and will never reach her. And there is no way via Kroger to have it corrected.

The company reps kept giving me phone numbers to call and there is no way to talk to a representative or if I do, they hang up on me or lie to me. No one has a desire to rectify the situation. I cannot locate anyone with a caring heart to help me within Kroger. I believe they are outsourcing due to the accents. A company in the Philippines tells companies they will save around 70% if they outsource with them. I have had tears in my eyes because my dear sister never received her gift!

Amazon Gift Card Ripoff

SOUTH HILL, WASHINGTON -- I purchased an Amazon gift card for 200.00, and used my American Express card to pay for it. I got home and went to redeem the card and it had already been used, between the time I checked out and the time I got home. Fred Meyer said it was all on Amazon, they gave the 200.00 to Amazon when the card was redeemed. I called Amazon, gave them everything, the receipt, the card, the case number at Fred, the person's name I talked to. After 30 minutes on hold, Amazon tells me that the account that was used to redeem the card was obviously not mine, and that the same account had been flagged as fraudulent. But, nothing can be done my money had been spent. What a shell game - deceit and blatant theft. 2nd time in 2 years, once for 100 I thought it was a fluke. Now for 200.

I call big daddy Amex to cover this obvious scam. They defer the repayment up until today when I am notified that I made a point of sale transaction that was never cancelled, so there is nothing Amex can do although they KNOW it was a scam. So much for consumer protection from Amex and I will file complaints and reports to the proper agencies for all the good it will do me. But at the outset, it is Fred Meyer who sold me something that was defective from the instant I paid for it (the receipt and redemption time are the same).

Bad Amazon Card

PUYALLUP, WASHINGTON -- I bought a Amazon card on Christmas Eve for my son for Christmas. Contacted Amazon and they sent me an text and told me to show it to the store manager and according to Fred Meyer, it is between me and Amazon. Contacted Amazon again and the 2nd time they told me to go back to the store and have them reactivate again! The store representative said that they could not do it and again it is between me and Amazon. I purchased this card from the store in the amount of $300.00!! No one wants to help me or refund my money.

All I wanted was for this to go into my son's Amazon account since it WAS his Christmas gift that he was not able to enjoy at all. I truly believe that this should be between Amazon and Fred Meyer not me! I am a victim of fraud between Amazon, Fred Meyer and Whoever this Mr. ** is!! Here is my proof of purchase!

I have been dealing with Amazon for almost one month come the 24th of January! Someone needs to help me with this issue! I already trying to contact someone to do an investigation, next is a lawyer! For my lost of funds and distress that I have been going through. My son works for law enforcement and I will get all the guidance from him to do what I need to do to get his funds for his Christmas that he was not able to use at all. I'm Sorry! Right now I am frustrated! Something needs to be done.

Store, Gift Cards and Rewards

MERIDIAN, IDAHO -- I have also has funds deleted from cards or rewards I have not used. "Diapers" was one use. My youngest is 30yr. My gas points was another. Told they could do nothing. **Every store is independent on pricing** ID Native. Been out here 34 yrs. HIGH turnover in staff. I liked it when it was more Fred Meyers. I did talk to Kroger's corporate when they were there. Kroger's has basically taken over, and considers themselves to serve those on the upper end of income, not those of being income challenged. I did feel funny about this. Kroger's products are a generic brand, also includes Simply Organic, are the highest of priority. Which are not necessarily good in texture, taste or ingredients quality, so not worth my money. They remove good products, to where I have to go to Walmart or Albertson's.

*Krogers offers sales, on products before price increases on. *This is to show that they sell so much of a product it validates price increase(s). The increases are sometimes up to $0.15 per product. Most of the time, its not a sale at all, have to watch your numbers, not the wording. Discount coupons are 80%+ only on Kroger's products. Because I am disabled and on poverty level disability w/ food stamps, I almost cannot shop here anymore due to prices. I want to spend monies very carefully, quality, nutritional values, and not a cheaper imitation, or generic nutritional nightmare of lower quality ingredients. Watch your produce and where it comes from, and how it is cared for. Strawberries, and blueberries tend to mold very quickly.

*As for going in for a "quickie" purchase, not so much, store is not set up for that. Most areas of high demand/prices are in the back of the store. You must constantly know the layout, they now constantly change this. Pricing and in-store advertising is not always clear. I have always said something. Always called them on it. What I have gotten back: arrogant attitudes, told I was reading it wrong, that is was for a next days sales, (3 days away), was a % example, *used system to call for assistance (reaching a high shelf)- didn't get an answer, so called on my phone, as the 2 employees walked away making really awful comments, that made me cringe.

*Teenagers running crazy in the store, stealing. What I mean by this is: putting items in a basket, opening it up eating or "grazing" it, then putting empty wrappings/boxes on shelf. Literally shoving or "bumping" into people for fun. There was a medium size elderly woman pushing her cart in front of me as these 4 girls (same ones grazing) that were running up and down isles, came thru. I moved quickly to offer support. This woman thought she had been "in the way". *People grazing thru the produce section, especially grapes. Also using the "basket or small shopping cart" system. I literally watched them do this, and come into the store when I was there, which is every other day.

**A child was lost within the store, and system for this was enacted and voice went over speakers. Child was found in outside Garden section. PROBLEM: No one heard the announcement, not one personnel went to the doors. A "floor" store manager was embarrassed by this, "what if it had been a child abduction?"

*Maybe it can be said ALL this happens in every store, maybe, but not so much. I expect better of them. Kroger did buy out Fred Meyer, Kroger's management, I still admired Fred Meyer for being a "family" store by definition, not to income based. That made me very sad. As that "lists" me and people in same circumstance at the bottom of the heap. *They only offer senior citizens discounts on first Tuesday of the month, but doesn't encourage any store member to say anything about it. I have watched this happen. When I was challenged by a customer behind me, she asked what the "senior" discount age was. Cashier answered, customer wanted to see my DL. So, I lifted mine in front of her, and my disability card, and showed the clerk. Clerk called supervisor.

**Ever notice that "reviews" mostly from hunting/fishing "guides" that live in $$$ areas, surrounding store. ☆Reality check. My horse has gotten out of pasture several times, gone directly to FM to eat his favorite produce that they throw out. Been caught "red hoofed" on all occasions. Funny to catch a horse munching on thrown away produce by an ACS.

Amazon Gift Card Was Scammed!

PUYALLUP, WASHINGTON -- I am returning to tell you the results of what was said to me about my Amazon card that was scammed in the amount of $300.00! From Fred Meyer's store in Puyallup. Which was my son's Christmas gift from his mother! It was said to me that I cannot get my money back (according to Fred Meyer), due to a no return policy on cards! If I purchased a gift card! How was I suppose to know that it was scammed! So, now, anyone who purchases a gift card must beware, because Fred Myer will not refund you! All gift cards are at risk, so that is telling me that Fred Meyer is the fraud, not Amazon!

I am not the first person that was scammed from Fred Meyer, apparently there were other customers that went and still are going through the same thing as myself. So why is Fred Meyer continuing to sell the gift cards! This was suppose to be a store that I can trust! If something does not work, get your full refund! No. It's not happening! Fred Meyer, you ought to be ashame of yourself! Your customers is who makes your business and this is what you do to them in return! I will not stop complaining until I get my money back! Please stop telling me to take it up with Amazon! I did not purchase the card from Amazon, I purchased it from you, Fred Meyer.

Online Ordering for Delivery During Corona Virus

NAMPA, IDAHO -- I ordered my groceries online from Fred Meyer because I am under 14 day quarantine I can't go out. I made the order to be delivered. I was told 4/6/2020 between 4-5 pm. The day of it was 4 pm got a text saying your order won't be delivered until 5:30-6. And it kept happening every half an hour and for later and later.

10:30pm came up and was told sorry we won't be able to deliver groceries until 4/9/2020at 9pm. I called Fred Meyer and of course the wouldn't do anything and wouldn't take ownership. They directed me to Instacart. Who btw you can't get thru wait time of 92 minutes every time you try to call. Few times I waited over an hour only for them to bump me back to 160min. Wait time every time. Never got to speak to anyone. And today their phone service said no one available try later.

I talked to Fred Meyer again and the lady said to place another order but for pickup and they would load my car and since the earliest date online showed April 15 she would have them bump me up to tomorrow. So I went online to double Check what all I had on my order that I paid for and my whole entire order disappeared. I have my confirmation number but it don't matter it's totally gone.

I spoke with the pickup manager and he said that not true and he wouldn't fix it said sorry good luck. He was so rude didn't care about resolving the issue. He said I can come in the store and doing my shopping didn't care I was under quarantine or that I could put others in danger. Mind you I didn't go. Walmart had only half what I wanted available but was so much better to go thru them. This is the worse service ever. Fred Meyer and Instacart way to take care of your customers in need during the pandemic.

Rude and Insensitive Cashier at the Division Avenue Store

EUGENE, OREGON -- I was in an electric disabled shopping cart, in the cashier's line today. When my turn came up, I brought the cart level with the counter. The cashier said "hello", picked up the store flier and read it cover to cover, never once looking at me again. Then she started tidying her workspace, still not looking up once. I tried three times to get her attention and she finally acknowledged me on the third attempt when I asked if she intended to keep reading or to help me unload the groceries. She came around and started unloading the groceries while telling me she didn't know whether I wanted her to help. I pointed out she had not asked or offered and had read the flier instead. She responded, repeatedly, that I must be having a bad day. (I wasn't until I encountered her!)

I asked to speak to the manager. I told him what was going on. He asked if it was possible she hadn't seen me. I told him she had initially greeted me and then ignored me. (It didn't seem to dawn on him that she should have been looking at her aisle for customers, right where I was sitting, not reading the flier!) Throughout my conversation with him, she stood there smiling inappropriately and smirking. I pointed that out to him. He asked if I wanted him to unload the cart. I said of course not, that I just wanted her to do her job and not ignore it or me.

The implication was that I was having a problem, when in fact I just didn't like being deliberately ignored. So that disabled shoppers can navigate around her, I will identify her as someone who by her name and accent can be identified as being from another country. Steer clear of her. She is culturally insensitive. Other than her, I have never found an unpleasant or unhelpful Fred Meyer employee in the three years I have shopped at this store. In fact, other than this incident, it is a pleasant place to shop.

COVINGTON, WASHINGTON -- It is my plan to stop all of my major shopping at Fred Meyer. Gone is the enjoyment of shopping at Fred Meyer; which it used to be a very enjoyable trip. I used to be able to go into a Fred Meyer store, head to the produce, quickly get what I wanted, go to organics, quickly get what I wanted, head over to a few key areas that were close together and be done in a short time - even for a good sized haul of groceries. Now the store has become spread so far apart; that going to the store even for a few items means traversing across most of the store and if you forget something from an aisle you already passed, it is time consuming to head all the way back. The location of oranges vs shampoo vs kombucha etc. -- it's very time consuming. What about our Senior Citizens who have shopped with you for so many years; many may have issues with walking; many people on chemo who would enjoy their short time shopping in the store - will likely stop shopping at Fred Meyer altogether. Many senior citizens don't use your apps because it requires too much for them. Even for people such as myself, and a younger worker at Fred Meyer; we find that when we get to the store - your ap has reset and in order to log back in we need the password - but tha's at home. WE don't log in often enough to remember it and it isn't saved on your app for some reason. This American problem, yes; what great access to so many products; but it would be good for you to know, Fred Meyer; where you will likely be losing customers. It's the seniors; it's the busy mom's who don't have time for the trip in your store. We'll choose Safeway. Also, have stopped shopping the Fred Meyer clothing altogether due to the change to the DIP clothing line, hard to find something nice. Now we go to Kohls. So for our major shopping, we'll enjoy Trader Joes, Safeway, PCC, and even go to some others such as Grocery Outlet and even purposely go to Winco and H-Mart... Missing the old Fred Meyer that used to be Senior-Citizen friendly, and quick-shopper friendly.

I hate Fred Meyer. Fred Meyer Sucks.

Bagging Clerk With Sticky Fingers.

SPOKANE, WASHINGTON -- I live a long way from any large grocery stores so stop in once a month to purchase a month worth of groceries all at a time. I am definitely not happy with my last trip into Fred Meyers. After comparing my last trip with my brother who also shops there we found we have both been displeased with the checkout area having both of us finding we are missing groceries when we get home.

For myself, it all started when I unloaded my groceries at the newly remodeled checkout counter. With the new conveyer belt that needs someone extra to bag the groceries. Partway through bagging my groceries, I caught the girl doing the bagging walking off with one of my bags of groceries. I called her back and she tossed the groceries into my cart like tossing an underhanded baseball. Then turned around and went to another lane and started bagging there. A couple of minutes later she was back bagging my groceries again. I turned to the cashier to answer a question and when I looked at the bagger again she was walking off with another bag of groceries. I stopped her again. This time she tossed the bag about 4 feet onto the conveyor belt then she disappeared for the rest of the bagging.

As I was leaving the other customer who she was "helping" said "Where's my meat? My meat is not here." Needless to say, I checked my receipt very carefully when I got home. Missing items I paid for, celery and some apples. Oh, also had some very bruised bananas and there were grapes scattered all over the place. Frankly, I think the bag she tossed onto the conveyor belt contained all my meat. Even though I stopped her twice I still lost some groceries. You, however, just lost a longtime customer for $5 worth of groceries and the absolute NERVE of a sticky-fingered bagger.

Steadily Going Downhill, Overall

TUMWATER, WASHINGTON -- For the last six months or so, this Fred Meyer has been going downhill steadily. I usually go there weekly, but now I'm only going maybe twice a month. The few sale items aren't worth going for (40 miles roundtrip), and when I do stop there, there always seem to be three or four things on my list not available. The tabs are still there, but the spot is empty (not on sale).

So I've stopped by when passing the area the next week, and the SAME THINGS are still missing. I went to the bulk bins for some raw, unsalted sunflower seed. Usually, it's empty, but the last time it wasn't; but as I was dispensing it into the bag, I noticed visually that they were salted. I asked the girl who was refilling the spices, and she said that FM doesn't train their new-hires anymore -- if they work out, they keep them, and if they don't, they fire them. Canned cat food: I buy a month's worth at a time, set them in the cardboard tray, stack them neatly (24 + 8 on top), all the same flavor/type.

At the checkout, I put one on the belt and tell the clerk that I have 32 altogether in the cart. So she picks up one at a time and scans them. But they ARE trained to ask for your rewards card. I usually respond by saying, "Not until someone can tell me why they're doing this". And the clerk says brightly, "It's to save you money!" Well, NO, it's not. FM is using the cards to collect information on you so they can sell it. Who are they selling it to? Any company who will pay them for it. And it's more than the ten cents savings you're getting. SUCKERS! I get the feeling that they're either getting ready to go out of business, OR they just don't give a **.
