Sixt - Reservation Not Honored

MANZANILLO MX -- On November 24, 2012 I reserved a car from Sixt for the month of March 2013. On February 15, 2013 I received an email from Sixt (in German). When I translated it I found it was confirming my cancellation. I contacted Sixt on three occasion but they refused to do anything. All they say is I can rebook at the current rate. When I booked in November the total cost for the month was $471 (US). To rebook now it is $1213, a difference of $742.

This is totally unacceptable and I would never book with Sixt again. I will also tell everyone I know of my experience

Unless you are going to be traveling to remote locations in Germany a rental car may be an expense you don't need. Public transportation (trains, busses, streetcars) throughout the country are readily available, route to almost all tourist locations and are reliable and economical. In the event you need a taxicab, these are also not too expensive.
