NORTH HIAWASSEE ROAD, ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- I just spent 30 minutes shopping, and didn't want to roll the cart halfway across the store just to get lunchmeat from the far corner. Got back & my cart was gone. Stock boy was no help - looked down the aisles the same as I did then went back to stocking shelves without a word. Finally found Robert The Jerk Grocery Manager talking on his cell phone and putting the last of my items back on the shelf. He actually laughed at me, gave an empty apology, and walked away with my cart as I stood there with items in my hand. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

When I called him back, he grew an attitude and said,"What do want me to do?" sarcastically, and told me it was MY fault for leaving the cart unattended. The cart was unattended for all of about a minute. This person does not belong in a position that deals with the public.

I am sure Robert the jerk did not enjoy putting your groceries back on the shelves. You should never leave your cart unattended. Winn Dixie like all other grocery stores have to worry about abandoned carts and make sure food in them does not spoil. Whenever I see an abandoned cart I like to throw a couple items in it just to surprise the shopper at the checkout.

I agree with bigal you should have taken the cart with you. I used to work in a grocery store and seeing abandoned carts is not uncommon.

I agree as well. When you leave your cart unattended, you risk someone deciding that it was abandoned and will try to save the perishable stuff. How are they to know any different?
