Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Pickup Trucks - Complaint

FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA -- Totally unsuitable for the stated purpose.
You will lose almost all use of your pickup bed due to size of the thing. Cannot load anything beside it because it requires the whole bed for turning radius. Won't work on most flatbeds.
My 4 month old hitch failed due to design flaws. The air lines are completely exposed resulting in leaks. The latch design is extremely difficult to operate, often impossible without jacking up the coupled trailer high enough to remove the detachable ball from the truck be so the hitch can be disconnected with a hammer and punch.
It does improve the ride somewhat and definitely cuts vibration in the trailer but it is far too much hassle to be worth the high $1800 price tag, not to mention the annoyance. We replaced it with a $230 cushion coupler from Etrailer.com that is infinitely more satisfactory. Almost $1600 cheaper too!
Warranty on defective Airsafe is yet to be fulfilled, but on the phone they insist that you pay return shipping to ND with no assurance of anything. Selling dealer is allowed no say in the matter!
I would not repeat this sad experience and certainly would not recommend this over-hyped gimmick to others.

I have seen these installed in pickup trucks and realized that the truck becomes virtually useless for any other purpose. Good review.
