NetSpend - What A Run-Around With My Money

AUSTIN, TEXAS -- I had my tax return deposited to a Netspend card via Turbo Tax. The IRS has direct deposited my money, Turbo Tax got their fair share but here I sit with no card, no money and absolutely no one can assist me. I will never use Netspend again, they are holding my money until I receive another card.

Lets hope my money is still there in two weeks.

I do not understand the whole concept of Netspend. What does Netspend offer that would be better than a bank account with a debit card?

They don't offer anything but convienience to people who can not handle a bank due to checks bouncing or can not budget well. But not all of these cards are horrible. I have a child support reliacard which is free and awesome but is state issued and only works with certain benefits.

took my netspend card to my bank it was declined twice, bank
then was told i would have to try annotherbank or come back tomorrow

i am having the same problem, i filed my taxes though turbo tax and used netspend it has been 4 weeks and i have not got a card yet. they have sent 3 cards and none has came. i am very pissed off. they have had my money sence feb. 14th. im starting to think netspend is a fraud company because this is happening to everyone who used netspend

I would appreciate it if NetSpend would release my tax money. The IRS deposited my taxes on to my NetSpend card and I tried to use the card one time and they put a block on it and still will not release my money. I will never use NetSpend again and will let everyone I know that NetSpend is a ripoff. I am also looking into where I need to file a formal complaint against NetSpend.

Filed with turbotax and used netspend, only to find out they claimed to've sent to wrong address and the card is now cancelled so they'll issue another 1. Since then my addy has changed so they blocked conversations for a # of calls then I reported to BBB and was referred to a superior who claimed if I purchase a new netspend card it could be transferred immediately same day otherwise I'd have another waiting time for mail delivery. So I purchased the netspend card at a cost of $4.95 it had to have a minimum of $20. load fee before activation so there's an add'tl $25. cost to which netspend claims to've been placing more than 1/2 my tax refund within 2hrs then I was to see the final amount the next day. Instead I got a text saying from citizens community bank saying the card was blocked and to reenter all my info to reactivate. I did then it said it was reactivated, then no money was ever recieved and no one will answer my calls at netspend or return a call from the messages. I am back on with BBB changed my pin becuase now the bank says that was a scam and the bank has nothing to do with netspend...Still nothing from NETSPEND!
I'm turning this over to police , BBB and any and ALL authorities media... Oh and let's see if feedback at netspend would be happy to look into this too.

I just got my NetSpend card in the mail, but my Federal Tax Refund isn't on it. I used Turbo Tax and this is how I was supposed to get my money. WTF?

I am going through the exact same thing. They have my refund but I have no card. Disappointed in Turbo Tax for recommending this company

Same thing. Number one. I don't understand how it takes ten business days to send a card in the mail. Best believe if it was a bill it would take two days. Maximum. Get on the phone with them and they say they are sending an expedited card. My refund was deposited a week ago. I want my money. Basically they are holding it because of course there's no way they can transfer it to my Paypal account. Ridiculous. I can't believe a place like turbotax would use these idiots. It's making me question whether I will even use turbotax next year.
