OKLAHOMA -- I tried to resign my membership for a number of reasons and the representative from Gold's Gym headquarters suggested I put a freeze on my account in the event I was unhappy with my new gym and could return and resume at the same monthly rate with no upcharges. I would need to contact them to let them know within 6 months if I wanted to reinstate. I did not wish to reinstate and have been delighted with my new gym. Much to my surprise they have been billing my credit card, without my knowledge or consent for the past five months with an amount doubling what I was originally paying per month. This practice is fraudulent and it was not communicated to me in the proper way when I first attempted to resign. Do not do business with these people. They will shaft you and refuse to reverse any charges. I had to contact my credit company's fraud department and they are working to resolve the matter.
