NFL Informative - NFL Refs - Officiating

Review by 20131 on 2006-02-05
Why do we pay Millions to the players.............pennies in comparison to the referees? Why do we have old men as Refs for games that 20 year olds can run 3 times as fast?

Why ask why?

You're a Seattle fan, right?

Not really, but I'm certainly not a fan of NFL officiating either!

It does seem that NFL refs get paid very little for an important job. On the other hand, there are plenty of refs willing to work for that pay scale.

Too bad it doesn't become a REAL job. Like something you have to train and try out for, just like the players.

So you’re saying there is no training or hiring process for NFL refs??? Heck, even you had to show a drivers license before Pizza Hut will let you take their babies out on the road.

Who are you talking to now? What, do you just troll around on here making up stuff? Grow up. No wonder nobody likes you. Dope.

I think the NFL shuns the idea of professional refs to try to keep the game as honest as possible. My dad used to work with a guy who was an airport manager by day but come weekends he was an NFL ref. I got a game ball from a Raiders v Rams game. Did you know if you put them in a window it fades them terribly so. I was 10.

Speaking of "training," Slim, too bad your special education failed.

Doesn't matter. We'll just review the play and get it right.
