OREM, UTAH -- This company, Vision Security, made it seem like they were taking over for our existing security company. They made it sound like our old company was out of business.
We received information in the mail saying our old company, Pinnacle, was changing it's name. We received a new sign in the mail for our yard. The new sign was Monitronics. This happened about 2 weeks before Vision Security came to our home.
This young man, Chad, came to our home on a Friday night, after dark. He said that they were in the neighborhood. We understood that Monitronics was again changing their name only this time the name was to be Vision Security. We had to sign a totally new contract for 60 months, for more money. The technician, Ryan, came a few minutes later and upgraded our system. My husband and myself were separated while I talked on the phone with someone Chad had called from Vision and my husband was being talked to by Chad about the contract.
We have not felt right about how this whole procedure was conducted. We asked if Pinnacle was changing it's name or what? We felt that we never did get a good answer or one we understood.
We have called Vision Security several times and one woman in particular was very rude and condescending to my husband telling him that he could buy out the contract by paying $2,000.00. I have talked with a supervisor at Vision about this matter and have received no help.
Vision Security said they would buy out our old contract with Monitronics if Monitronics would give them a statement saying how much it would take. When the statement came to us and we called Vision, we were told to call Monitronics and tell them that they thought the amount should be less. We have been unsure as to who, if anyone, is actually providing us with security.
This process has been very very stressful and way beyond what a business should do. I came home one day and my husband was so stressed out that I was afraid he would have a stroke. That was the day he had talked with both companies trying to get this matter resolved.
I do not want this to happen to anyone else and I want this matter settled for us.
As it stand now both companies are debiting funds from our account for the past 2 months. We cannot afford this and we should not be tied up by this mess. We are both retired and on fixed incomes.
We would like for the contract with Vision Security to be cancelled and for the funds they have taken from our account to be reimbursed. (As of today the amount is about $164.00 from Vision Security. We would rather be with Monitronics because they have been so much more above board.
