SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS -- Short version:
Had a reservation through Travelocity at Sheraton Suites in Alexandria, VA, from Saturday, March 2nd to Sunday, March 3rd.
Arrived on Saturday night right before midnight, but could not check in as the front desk told me that I did not have a reservation on their system. After several calls and faxes back and forth with Travelocity, finally I was able to check in at 2AM. Had two 1 year old babies crying to go to sleep.
Contacted Travelocity for a compensation but they refused to give out anything.
Further explanations:
I got there with a party of 2 families.
Room 1: Me, my wife, and our 1 year old baby. C285527979
Room 2: My wifes friend, and her 1 year old baby. C225527986

Somehow the front desk only had reservation for Room 2. And took several outgoing calls, incoming calls, holds, and incoming faxes before I was allowed to check in without being "double-billed" by the hotel. Two hours worth of that nonsense.

Thanks for reminding me why I don't use third party contractors. Their prices, even if discounted, aren't worth their mistakes and frequent lack of service.

I don't see what "compensation" would make up for this, which is why I (like Alain) refuse to use any of these third parties to make reservations. I suppose the lure is ease of use and cost, but it simply is not worth the headaches I see others go through.
