Gold's Gym International, Inc Complaint - an amazing fraud true story
TAMPA, FLORIDA -- My daughter bought me a year membership with Golds Gym. I used the gym three times a week. When my contract ended they asked me if I was going to renew. I told them I could not afford it and I had plans to move to Costa Rica. I asked another employee to confirm that July 21st is my last day, unless I renew. I was told "Yes July 21 is your last day. Six months later, I get a bill for $160 saying I am past due on payments for my membership. I called to talked to the owner and according to him his computer says I'm still a member, although I never received any bills for it so if it was a mistake, I had no way of knowing. Then the owner changed the reason for the bill and said it was a termination fee. How can you charge someone that much money to terminate something that was already terminated. It was clearly stated on the contract that the membership would end July 21.
I'm getting letters and phone calls and Im sure they will put me on a credit report. EVERYONE, write letters to those collection agencies, they will hear the same story over and over and you will win the dispute.
