Subway - Rip Off Advertising
Submarine Sandwiches - Complaint
MONTGOMERY, TEXAS -- Subway stores have a long running advertising campaign that claims you can get 2 regular footlong subs for $10 after 4 and on Sundays.
We ordered two subs (roast beef and meatball) last night. We had gotten that combo before for $10 about ten days ago.
The cashier charged us $14 -- more than 40% more than the advertised price!
The reason? "Oh, we changed the categorization of the subs yesterday and the promotion. We only honor that deal for $6 subs and roast beef is no longer a $6 sub."
I felt ripped off -- if you change the deal, change the sign. It's a cheap trick and typical of this chain.
i fell victim to a similar trick at another store -- an advertisement for a $5.25 meal of drink, sandwich, and side. There is a list of sides on the wall, but (guess what?) not all of them are included in the advertised deal. only those that no one trying to eat healthy would want.
If you are counting on an advertisement, shop carefully at this chain.
