J.C. Penney Company, Inc. - Cabin Creek clothing
Complaint
I went to my local J C Penny store last night to purchase some new shirts and pants/jeans. I was very disappointed to see they have dropped another one of the brands (Cabin Creek) I have been buying there for years. I walked through the store and was amazed at the lack of variety of clothing they now stock. Even the Alfred Dunner Petites section was lacking in style and color selection. I realize that retailers need to cater to the younger generation, but they are losing their older customer base when they stop stocking the clothing we purchase.

What JCP forgot is the younger generation has no money. Where are the 15 to 25yr old going to get money? Part-time minimum wage earners, do not have the resources to support JCP.
However, the baby boomers have a huge amount of resources. It is all in the demographics, if these CEOs would just pay attention. Don't these people learn from each others mistakes?
Plus, there is always a supply of the older generation, because believe it or not we all age.

If people shopped more often for the Cabin Creek brand, they may still be carrying it. They dropped it a year ago.
At this point, JCP will be lucky to survive. If they do maybe in the future they will consider bringing it back. Right now, they have other things on their mind.

Cabin Creek and St John's Bay were the most popular brands in the J. C. Penney lines and yet they dropped both of them. Seriously, I'd love to be a fly on the wall when they made that choice.
Most of us threw our hands up in the air and said now what do we do. Because, those were the brands we bought for years! Not a problem now, I've got other brands at another store. I will never shop at the new store called JCP... J. C. Penney is gone... it is a new store called JCP.
