Meile - Stay Away!!

AURORA, MINNESOTA -- We purchased the top line washer/ dryer set in April of 2009. ($3800) From the beginning the dryer overheated to the point of being burned by the clothing when I removed it. After many complaints (we had to call the company instead of the distributor) and rude treatment by the Meile service people they sent someone to look. They replaced the dryer in June of 2010 agreeing that it overheated. The same problem returned. Six months later they replace the thermostat. Today we heard a huge bang! The drum will not rotate. The soonest they can come is 3 weeks!!!
They are rude, do not take responsibility for their poorly designed product and don't care. We are junking the pair and buying American. If you want quality stay away from Meile!

Sounds like you got tumbled to the tune of almost four grand. Ouch.

It will be difficult to find true "Made in America" appliances. Many brands are "assembled in America" but the underlying electronics and parts are foreign made. Good luck in your quest.

My Speed Queen was made in America, but that was a few years ago. Might want to check that out.
