Walmart can't afford to hire enough people?

EFFINGHAM, ILLINOIS -- Never been a fan of Walmart but I have a family to support...that being said, I shop there 2 or 3 times a week (reluctantly). There is never a time when I don't wait at least 15 minutes in line (usually more) on any given day. People, this a Super Walmart with 30 checkout lanes. Guess how many were open at 5pm today? (Thursday) 7 checkouts open. 7? Really? Is it because poor Walmart can't afford to pay enough employees to take care of customers who are tired after a long day of work and just want to get their stuff and go home? Not so much...Is it because Walmart is greedy enough to make employees work just under enough hours not to be eligible to even receive insurance?

Oh that may have something to do with not being able to find enough employees that WANT to work there. I'm grateful that I have an employer that at least cares enough to offer me insurance. I think the way they treat their employees is downright inexcusable.

That's all I have to say about Walmart...

Wal-Mart knows that customers like you are willing to wait in a line for 15 minutes. Wal-Mart knows that customers value the minimal savings more than they(customers)value their own time.

Walmart attitude towards insurance is long standing it has nothing to do with Obama and more to do with consumers who value cheap s**t over everything.
It started way before Bush II ok.
Consumers will stand in line 'thinking' they are saving money, and Walmart knows that.

I've never been a fan of WalMart so I try not to shop there. You get what you pay for. I figured out that my grocery bills would be 2-3% higher if I shopped at a store that cares about its customers, and has excellent customer service. When more than 3 people are in a line, someone runs out and invites you to a new lane.

It is far and away worth it to me to pay a slight amount more for a pleasurable experience.

Walmart has inundated it's presence in the marketplace. The company knows well, that its marketing strategy and buying power quickly put most family owned local grocers out of business, often leaving Walmart as the only option.

Once this presence is established they are able to hire employees from a large pool of job seekers and consider them disposable.

Customer service is of little concern to them, they know in many places you have been left with few other options.

I have never been in a Walmart where there were 7 checkout lanes open. Never more than 3 or 4, in my experience. Guess that's why I don't shop there.

walmart is not any cheaper than going to a grocery store and getting the sale items. At least at a grocery store you are guaranteed it will be in stock or if not you can get a raincheck for the sale item. At a grocery store you can get double and triple coupons and you don't have to plead for the cashier to give you the money for the coupon. At grocery stores they have store cards that give you more discounts and in many places gas discounts. At a grocery store you will get customer service and do not have to wait in line for a long period of time to check out. At a grocery store they will bag your items and put the bags into the cart for you. walmart has brainwashed some into thinking they have lower prices, but if you really compare prices they are not. Years ago, yes, today no.

If I needed something to pick up "quick" wal mart is the last place i would go. I do shop at wal mart occasionally when I know Im going to spend quite some time in there. But there is no such thing as being "in and out" and wal mart. Between dodging customers, trying to find the item, and trying to check out, its pretty much impossible, unless you go at like 2:00 in the morning.
