LUTHERVILLE, MARYLAND -- My friend TJ and I have been members for over 5 years of this location. It started out as Planet Fitness, then sold to Spunk Fitness, then Sold to Exercise Nation Clubs (http://exercisenationclubs.com). They started a renovation program about 5 years ago when it was PF. However this process Started, Stopped, Started, Stopped, and Started again. Now 5 years latter when they have finally gotten it to the point where it was just about finished (still a half assed renovation) the ceiling caves in leaving a large part of the free weight workout area unusable. The ceiling caved in about 4 weeks ago and they have done NOTHING to fix this and get the area back into a usable condition.

The equipment is old and maintance is not a priority. The new carpet that they put in to the free weight area less then a year ago is tattered and there is duck tape holding it together in places. Needless to say, who puts carpet in a free weight area? Just about any reputable gym is putting in rubber floors to ensure something like this does not happen. And must I point out the safty issues associated with carpet that is torn and duck taped back together? A trip and fall waiting to happen.

One of my friends asked the manager if they planned on adding WIFI at the club. The manager actually laughed and told him "this is a $10 per month gym". I am also a member of Planet Fitness here in Baltimore, which is alos a $10 per month gym and they offer WIFI, new equipment, no visible safty issues.........

So I guess we are to the point where some of you are asking, why am I still a member. I DONT KNOW! Honestly, I think it comes down to the fact that I am only in there 1 maybe 2 days a week now and only if I an on a schedule where I can't get to the Abingdon PF or Dundalk PF... Yes, I am willing to drive over 30 min to a nice gym.

I am sharing my 3 cents here so as to give anyone that reads this a realistic understanding of what this place is. So you can make a fully educated decision on weather to join here or not.

I can tell you that there are a couple of other local options in the area if you don't mind a 1 year agreement.
