SEARCY, ARKANSAS -- I have been a clothing shopper at Pennys for a long time. Now they do not have any decent clothing for older men. No pants (Levi action) no suspenders except cheap ones. No practical shoes. Shoes with heels that don't rock and roll. No American made things. It is an empty store not even up to discount store caliber.

Get a new CEO. This one is a jerk.

Exactly my words. I guess since everything is made in East Asia these days, Penneys has lost its source for good quality merchandise which it carried and sold at its moderate prices. Penneys and many other stores have turned into GUM stores of the Soviet Union 40 yrs ago.

You nailed it, the CEO is the problem. Fox news reports that JC Penny CEO Ron Johnson may be running out of time. After a disastrous holiday quarter, the board is now said to be considering firing him or selling the company.

JCP seems to have turned all their marketing to teenagers. I am 31 and don't shop there for clothes because I am too old to wear what they sell. But I do like their shoe and lingerie departments, especially the clearance sections.
