COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO -- Attracted by advertising of the Hopper "whole-house" DVR, I created a DishTV account using the DishBuilder feature on the dishTV.com web site. I approved charges to my credit card of $53.80 and a monthly bill of $49.99. Within minutes, my credit card was charged $350.92. I immediately called Customer Service for an explanation. The representative started citing equipment and installation fees that explicitly showed as $0 on the plan that I approved online. Additionally, they had escalated my requested channel package to the highest cost plan. The DishTV representative refused to provide me with a statement justifying the increased charges. Of course, I canceled my purchase. I find their business practices to be reprehensible and would not recommend DishTV to anyone.
