Buyer Beware -- Information From Orbitz Customer Service Not Accurate
Credit for Cancelled Flight - Complaint
TORONTO -- I cancelled a flight from Asia back in December 2012 -- I spent HOURS on the phone (while in Myanmar!!! no less) with Orbitz customer service to find out what my options were. The agents I spoke with weren't sure, they had to call their supervisors, then they called the airline Air Canada. They came back and told me I would not be able to get a refund (fine) but I could get a credit, about $600 that I could use anytime before June 1st for another flight. I confirmed it would be another flight anywhere and they said yes. Now back home in Canada, they tell me I can only book the flight from Bangkok. Since I am no longer in Bangkok this is an issue.
I am completely angry and frustrated with this company for giving me incorrect information. I thought I could trust what they said, as they said they spoke to the airline. So basically I was lied to, and now am out $600. I will NEVER book with them again. It is not worth it. Even back home I have probably spent 3 hours on the phone with them and it was probably another 3 at least while I was in Asia. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
