Auto Insurance - Complaint
LINCROFT, NEW JERSEY -- I put out a feeler on the internet looking for cheaper insurance because Esurance was raping me for bare bones liability even though I'm 42 and have a clean record and no claims. I live alone and drive my truck 15 minutes to and from work every day. The truck is parked in my driveway on a dead end street. I get a call from Justin of High Point in Lincroft and he tells me he can save me $600 a year so I ask him, "Did you run my credit?" "Did you run my driving record?" "Do you need anything else from me?" Because I don't want to get a notice a couple weeks down the road saying my premium is going up for some asinine reason! He says'"No we don't do "teaser rates", this is your rate guaranteed locked in." So I tell him I have to wait until pay day so I can make the first payment. During that week I called Justin AGAIN to confirm and asked him was he sure that this was my rate? During our next call when I had him draw up the policy I asked him again "Are you sure you don't need anything else? My rate won't change? and he says no.
The next day I'm ready to cancel my Esurance policy and make my first payment with Prudential Plymouth Rock but one last time I call justin williams again to confirm that nothing has changed and he says no you're good. No reason to worry. So I call and cancel with Esurance and I'm happy and all is good with the world. I even get my first bill and its still the premium we discussed and I signed up for and I make my payment right on time.
A COUPLE WEEKS LATER I GET A LETTER FROM PLYMOUTH ROCK ASKING FOR DOCUMENTS! WOULDNT YOU KNOW IT ABOUT MY PREVIOUS POLICY WITH ESURANCE WHICH I THREW AWAY BECAUSE NOW I HAVE NEW INSURANCE. LUCKILY I HAD OLD EMAILS WITH MY LOE "LETTER OF EXPERIENCE" AND MY CANCELLATION EMAIL. SO I FORWARD THEM AS REQUESTED.
IF I DONT GET A LETTER 2 WEEKS LATER, AND 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY POLICY, THAT THEY ARE RAISING MY RATE BECAUSE I WAS ONLY WITH ESURANCE FOR 5 MONTHS INSTEAD OF 6!!!!!! HAD THEY ASKED ME FOR THOSE DOCUMENTS WHEN I ASKED THEM 4 GODDAMN TIMES I WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THEIR 6 MONTH POLICY AND COULD HAVE WAITED ONE MORE MONTH TO SIGN WITH PLYMOUTH ROCK! I HAD ALREADY MADE A PAYMENT TO ESURANCE FOR THAT ONE LAST MONTH WHICH THEY REFUNDED ME. BUT BECAUSE OF SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES NOW MY RATE IS AT GOD KNOWS WHAT BECAUSE IM TOO IRATE TO OPEN THE BILL!!!!! I'M BASICALLY GIVING IT A DAY OR TWO BEFORE I CALL BUT I CANT GUARANTEE I WONT RAISE MY VOICE BUT I PROMISE YOU THAT I AM FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE NJ STATE DIVISION OF BANKING AND INSURANCE AND I'M GOING TO CONSUMER AFFAIRS IN MONMOUTH COUNTY AND I WILL BE FILLING OUT A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB AND POSTING IT ON THEIR WEBSITE ABOUT HIGH POINT IN LINCROFT AND THE UNDERWRITING DEPARTMENT AT PLYMOUTH ROCK SPECIFICALLY [snip] WHOSE JOB IT SEEMS IS TO SPECIALIZE IN SCREWING NEW CUSTOMERS. I'M NOT GOING AWAY AND I'M NOT LETTING THIS GO! THIS WAS JUST WRONG AND BAD BUSINESS OVER 1 DAMN MONTH!
