Bob's Discount Furniture - General Review of the Operation
MANCHESTER, CONNECTICUT -- When my wife and I went into the Southington location, this visit should have given me the sign from above not to do business with a store like this. As we walked in we found 10 sales people conversing in groups amongst themselves, ignoring customers. It reminded me of timeshare resort sales. When asking for help they pointed and said " if its not on the floor- everything we have is out".
We went to the Manchester store to look for outdoor patio furniture and settled on the Kona collection. No pressure, but they push the crap out of the "goof proof" product. From the reviews it is not what the sales people tells you it is. When. Purchasing, we were told the delivery window is 2-3 hours but they can be flexible. We found this to be an outright lie. Not only was the store not flexible, but missed the window of delivery by 3 hours. To add insult to injury, when taking the product out of the box with box cutters, the delivery eh, sliced the cushion and frame. Upon calling the store, the manager of the "self proclaimed" customer service, told us they would send out a technician and offered us another 3 hour window.
All the money that Bob's spends on ads and gimmicks are supported by a very shady organization that tells you what you want to hear. But they don't back anything up and overcharge on delivery.
We could never buy from this organization and highly recommend anyone against it. There are better ways to save money and buy better quality furniture.
