LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- We have stayed at South Point Hotel/Casino several times and we do love it and will stay there again. The hotel prices are phenomenal. They are a little south of McCarren airport on Las Vegas Boulevard so you either need a car or they have a shuttle that goes every 30 minutes to the "strip" for a daily fee of $8. The one thing I was blindsided about (having not been there in a couple years) was that South Point has added a Resort Fee of $14 per day to your hotel bill. I was told they held off doing it for a long while. It is something the hotel/casinos on the strip all do and their Resort Fees are higher than South Point. You do get some benefits for the resort fee like free shuttle to the airport and free wi-fi in rooms plus other things. Just be aware of this fee that is common in
Vegas these days. Another way to separate you from your money!!!

It seems more and more hotels are adding the "resort fees" that cover things that you would expect to be part of the room charge (internet access, landline phone as though anyone uses the inroom phones, etc) The problem is getting out of them: there is no way.
