Pep Boys Complaint - Tune up & Engine Light
STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK -- I've always bring my car to Pep Boys, people tell me not to, but it's so convenient to where I am. They take very long on doing everything, inlucing oil change which takes about 20 minutes top, but it takes them 4-5 hours.
Anyway, I purchased a used vehicle and brought to Pep Boys for a full tune up and inspection, somehow the tuneup made the engine light came on which failed the inspection/emission test. They originally told me they have to get the engine light fixed since this vehicl does not have any sensors. Tune up came out close to $500
1 week after the tune up, the engine came back on again, the same guy told me it's the senosors when he told me previously this car (2000 For Windstar) has no sensors. He said he did not tell me such nonsense. The cost to fix the sensors is $150, and tells me there will be additional sensors to be fixed later as one goes, the other goes too.
Boy he's good in 2 days after paying $150, the engine light came back on. I went to a local garage, fixed it and it has been 6 months and no engine light. Never again with Pep Boys. Thinking back, with my other cars, I always have to bring it back several times to get it right.
