MIDDLETOWN, NEW YORK -- I bought lunch at their Deli, as I and my coworkers have for years, and a few hours later my credit card was charged an additional $102. When I saw it on my bank statement, I went in and spoke to the owner. He told me he took it over after that date and it wasn't his problem. He still employs the same staff and kept the same Name, so I think he's aware of the shenanigans going on there. I asked around and found out that I'm not the only one this has happened to there. I work in the customer service end of a huge retailer, and will be sure to spread the word every chance I get! His best move would have been to at least show some empathy but since he didn't it will cost him way more than $100!! Buyer BEWARE!

Why didn't you just dispute it with your credit card company?

It's interesting that there was a fraudulent charge as one of the (assuming) last activities on the previous owners merchant account. Wonder how many others had whacky charges. Dispute that charge immediately as the previous owner has closed out that account no doubt. Considering he/she probably wouldn't challenge your dispute, you should be OK.
