Dish Network - Refund?!

ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- When attempting to pay my past due balance, I was chargered for my FULL BALANCE OF $144. This was not a mistake on my part, but a glitch in the website or something. I'm a college student, and $144 is a full two weeks of groceries or a light bill. I called customer service who told me that my refund would be processed in 5-7 business days. In my mind, that refund should be processed back through my bank account, not added as a credit to my account. So today was business day 7, and I still had not received the $70something in my bank account. I called my banking institution and they confirmed that there were no pending transactions in my account. So I called Dish Network, was put on hold and heard their automated system bragging about their #1 customer satisfaction. What a load of bull. I was informed that because the initial full payment was MY FAULT that they could only credit my dish account. I escalated the call to a supervisor and he proceeded to tell me the same thing. I can't believe that a service I pay $70 a month for would be so inflexible. Thank god my contract ends in a month, or I'd pay the ridiculous fees to cancel. I highly recommend choosing basic cable or even Comcast. Dish network will not work with you...only continue to take money out of your pocket WITHOUT your permission.
